New Rubner “Germania” bass

We have a new  German made instrument from the Rubner workshop. This is fully carved, with a spruce top along with maple back and sides. The varnish is red brown with some antiquing. Some dimensions:

• string length 41 1/4″
• lower bout width 26 1/2″
• upper bout width  19 1/2″
• rib depth lower block 8 1/8″
• rib depth upper block 7″
• length of back 44 1/4″

This is a nice instrument – it’s light in weight, projects well and is even across the range. We installed a new East African ebony fingerboard,  fitted a Despiau bridge, New Harmony carbon endpin and Pirastro Evah Pirazzi weich strings.
