William Lewis and Son “Bottesini” bass

This was Chicago’s William Lewis and Son’s finest carved bass, produced in Markneukirchen Germany most likely in the 1960’s.  Some dimensions:

lower bout width 25 3/4″

upper bout width 19 1/4″

string length 42″

length of back 44″

rib depth at lower block 8″

rib depth at upper block 6 3/8″

E flat neck

This fully carved roundback bass is in good condition with one ding in the top plate lower edge. We’ve gone through and taken care of any setup work that was needed, including fingerboard resurfacing and endpin replacement. This is a good sounding instrument for jazz or the bass section. Includes Mooradian Deluxe bag,  nice Emile Dupree (Seifert) Pernambuco French bow, Meisel stand and quiver.
